ROMANIA CUTS SUPPORT FOR NEW RENEWABLE ENERGY FROM JANUARY
Romania will cut its support scheme for new wind, solar and small hydro renewable energy projects from January, a government decree said on Tuesday, to avoid overcompensating producers and curb price increases for industry and homes.
ROMANIA'S TRANSELECTRICA 5-YEAR BOND ISSUE OVERSUBSCRIBED
Romanian state-owned power grid operator Transelectrica ROTL.BX closed its 200 million lei ($61.42 million) five-year bond issue on Monday, and said it was oversubscribed.
UK RUSHES OUT WELFARE CURBS TO DETER EAST EUROPEAN MIGRANTS
British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Wednesday he was rushing out regulations to stop migrants from the European Union being able to immediately claim welfare benefits amid public fears of an influx of Romanian and Bulgarian workers.
ERSTE TAKES 350 MLN EUR WRITEDOWN, KEEPS OUTLOOK
Austrian lender Erste Group Bank ERST.VI is writing down goodwill by around 350 million euros ($481 million), primarily for Romanian unit BCR, the bank said on Tuesday.
RAIFFEISEN DETAILS SOVEREIGN EXPOSURE AT END-H1
Austrian lender Raiffesen Zentralbank RZB.UL, the unlisted parent of Raiffeisen Bank International RBIV.VI, said its largest sovereign exposure as of the end of June was to Slovakia.
CEE MARKETS
The crown fell against the euro as the Czech central bank confirmed its weak-currency policy on Tuesday, while interest rate cuts in Hungary and Serbia had little effect on their currencies.
EGYPT'S GASC BUYS 120,000 TONNES ROMANIAN, RUSSIAN WHEAT - TRADE
Egypt, the world's biggest importer of wheat, bought 120,000 tonnes of Romanian and Russian wheat for shipment on Jan. 21-31, a Cairo-based trader and the state's main buying entity said on Tuesday.
